Your doctor checks you head-to-toe during your annual physical but other than general questions about how you’re feeling, does that check-up include brain health? If your answer is no or even I don’t know, you aren’t alone. Maybe you should consider an annual Brain Checkup as well. We offer two types.
Here at the Annapolis Center for Restorative Medicine, we specialize in cutting edge wellness through the lens of functional (or restorative) medicine. Dr. Eichleberger has augmented her 25+ years in primary care medicine with specialized training and certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine, A4M, and Appolo Health/ReCODE – the groundbreaking program developed by Dr. Dale Bredesen, Neurologist and Neuroscientist specializing in memory loss.
We have customized a unique program that allows patients to gauge, monitor, and potentially improve their brain health. Through an assessment that includes personal and family history, extensive testing, and lifestyle factors, Dr. Eichelberger and her team help to give patients a clearer look at their cognitive health and wellness.
During your Comprehensive Brain Checkup you will receive the following;
Specialty lab work that includes;
- Genetic risk factors
- Extensive hormone evaluation
- Possible underlying diseases
- Preliminary toxin and micronutrient levels
Your Brain Check-Up also includes a brief physical exam, review of lab work, and a plan-building session with Dr. Eichelberger that is tailored to your specific goals, health history, and concerns.
We also offer a Quick Brain Checkup* for people who are looking for a snapshot of their cognitive wellness.
Are you feeling like your brain is a bit foggy these days? Is it harder to remember all the things that need to get done in a day or maybe you find yourself forgetting simple stuff? Perhaps you have a family history of dementia or even Alzheimer’s? If you find yourself answering yes to any of these questions it might be time for a Quick Brain Checkup with our center.
Our center has partnered with the Cambridge Brain Sciences (CBS) platform to help people assess their cognitive status. The CBS tasks were developed in the laboratory of Dr. Adrian Owen, Canadain Excellence Research Chair in Cognitive Neuroscience and Imaging (owenlab.org.) The tasks assess areas of cognition including reasoning, memory, attention and more. Over 300 scientific studies have used the CBS task platform to date.
The Quick Brain Checkup is a two-part process that begins with a simple, easy, online assessment followed by a telephone visit and review. Once the online portion of the assessment is completed, participants will then spend 20-30 minutes talking by phone with our expert staff to interpret the results.
Though this is not a diagnostic tool. Our Quick Brain Checkup is an easy, inexpensive way to assess your cognitive wellness as part of your whole-body health. Contact our center today to book your appointment.
* note that this is not a diagnostic tool. Due to the format of the assessment a physician visit is not required or included.
